Only three appeared in the garden this year and this one was so magificent that I just had to photograph it.

Beautiful photo. I tend to find tulips disappear or just stop flowering after a couple of years. My dwarf ones in pots seem to do better than the ones in the ground.
Ditto what Joanne said, especially if you cover the pots with mesh to stop the mice and squirrels moving the bulbs.
