Spot the cat!
Can anybody explain to me why cats are so attracted to clean laundry? You'd think they would opt to sleep on a heap of dirty clothes that smelt comfortingly of their pet humans, rather than a pile of newly washed stuff stinking of the chemicals in the washing liquid and fabric conditioner.
And another thing... How come they always know that you have just carried some clean garments up and laid them on the bed? There could be no cat in sight, but within moments, one has morphed into being, beamed up from the bottom of the garden, or beneath the table, and is furrily, almost invisibly, ensconced on your nice, clean (?) laundry.

That last part about cats morphing into being where previously there were none in sight also works for concrete and cement. When my builder had finished a concrete ramp down to the side entrance he went off for the day saying, 'I wonder how many sets of catprints there'll be through that by morning?' He said he'd never managed to be print-free up to then.
At the time, we didn't have any cats but, sure enough, there was (still is) a set of catprints across the new ramp by the next morning.
I have a vision of cats hiding in trees and round corners watching builders at work and scuttling out to have a nice wander around or do an Irish jig on the nice, smooth smooth surface the moment the builders leave.
Oh, that's so funny, Jacula, and so true! When next door were having new cement laid, we could actually see Junior, Chi Mimi's brother, waiting round the corner. As soon as the builder had packed up, along the cement he walked, placing his pawprints there for posterity.
LOL, seriously, right? Babu's famous for that. "OOH! FRESH LAUNDRY! I MUST LAY ON IT! ESPECIALLY IF IT'S BLACK! .. AND HER WORK UNIFORM!" Ugh.
